Villány is the southernmost wine region of Hungary. Protected from the northern cold winds by small hills this area has an unique Sub-Mediterranean microclimate. Hot summers and long dry falls and a soil made of clay-brown forest/loess on limestone provide excellent conditions for blue grape production.
Jammertal Wine Estate (Est. in 2001) owns 185 acres of vineyards on some of the finest terroirs and two adjoining wineries equipped to the highest standards. The winery produces high-end, full bodied red wines from Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grape varieties. The purpose-built wineries employ state-of-the-art technology which is combined with the time honoured winemaking tradition of the region.
