Mad Wine

Mad Wine is dedicated to express the unique terroir of Mad village. The winery is located in the heart of the Tokaj region in the village of Mad. This village has the largest total vineyard area in the region. The vineyards were classified in the early 1700s. The company owns 20 hectares of vineyards in eleven different plots most of them located in first class areas. Most of the plantations are located in Mad, but they own vineyards in Tallya, Ratka and Tarcal as well. The chosen plots were all highly classified in 1737 – the first vineyard classification of the world-, and today are considered to be the ones with the highest potential in the region.

Mad Wine has won the title „The best winery in Hungary” several times, and their wines were also named as the best in the world in their category. The secret is to be found not only in the team of experts and in one of the most outstanding production areas in the world, but also in a vision based on a combination of modern approach, innovation and historical traditions that allows the values of the wine region to be perfectly expressed.

Mad Wine belongs to the elite group of the world’s best sweet wine producers. Both their dry wines and sweet wines achieve outstanding results in the most important competitions in the world including Decanter World Wine Awards Platinum, International Wine and Spirits Competition Trophy, Decanter Asia Wine Awards Platinum, Mundus Vini Grand Gold, New York International Wine Competition Double Gold awards etc. However their real goal is not winning trophies but to share with the widest possible public the elemental experience that can only come from tasting their wines.
